2013 Year In Review

What a year, 2013

Some family and friends made there trip to heaven, some far too soon.

But it brought alot of us closer, and we appreciate each other a little more.

I've met some great new friends, and that made those bad days seem not so bad.

I got blessed with my first niece, beautiful Miss Brityn.

My nephew makes my heart bigger everyday I get to spend with him.

My sons... I couldn't be more proud of the young men they are becoming.

My husband couldn't make me happier! I love him more with each passing day.

This blog has really made me proud of what I love to do!

And I look forward to the new year, and all the changes that it's gonna bring!

DIY- Old Keys into Vintage Jewelry Ornaments

I had found these old keys and many other great trinkets at Junk Stock Fall Show. I knew I was gonna do something for Christmas with them, but just wasn't real sure what at the time. 

My boys were fascinated by these old keys. They went even as far as looking up the companies that were printed on some of them. In fact one of them was to a 1971 Camaro. Ok, how cool is that?!! 

I dug out all my vintage jewelry and buttons. And pieced them to somewhat match. (As in metal colors, silver to silver, gold with gold)

How is everyone's shopping goin??  I ain't even close to being done. I'm hoping that I finish up our shopping next weekend. I've been so busy with custom order Tins for everyone! And I LOVE every minute of it!

Fisherman's Tree

A Fisherman's Christmas Tree of Bobbers!

We have a neighbor, Steve that moved in about a year ago. He had lost his wife and moved to be closer to his children and family. Over the course of the year we have came to know him pretty well.

 The first time we actually met him, my boys seen him in his driveway with his tackle boxes and fishing poles. And of course fishing..+..my boys....lets just say they were on him like stink on poop! They just have a true love for fishing. Well that's all it took to break the ice. Steve has became part of our family. He also shares a passion for yard sales. YEAH Bonus! Him and I usually can't wait to show each other what "DEAL" we got that day at the yard sales.

OK, so anywho... onto the tree. I found out that Steve didn't have a Christmas tree. Well, we can't let that happen now could we? 

Since his entire living room decor is in a fishing theme. I quickly grabbed one of my mini trees (I have several LOL), and a bag of new bobbers we had in the garage. I then painted some cute little snowman faces on them. Attached a wire, so they would hang on the branches. Aren't they the cutest!

Well I'm sure everyone has got their houses all decked out by now! And the shopping has begun...maybe? I know I officially just started yesterday. But I did put a serious dent in that gift list! Wahoo!!

This last weekend I had a craft booth at a local Fire Station open House, in which it was a HUGE success! I'm still gleaming!

 So I was looking around "Imagination Station" aka Garage, trying to think of what I could use to make some ornaments. I thought I hafta have some type of ornament, it's a holiday open house! Then it dawned on me...

 I had a whole bag of mason jar lids leftover from our Wedding. The insides of the lid were white....perfect for a little snowman face! So I painted their cute little faces on!

DIY Holiday Sign

My friend Megin over at VMG hosts a link party every Tuesday "Brag About It Party". And I seen one of her features last week from Twoityourself was this Pottery Barn Knock Off. Well of course I wanted to take a stab at it! Just thought it was a neat looking sign. 

So I headed to the garage and cut some pieces down and VIOLA!

Rescued Crate

My husband keeps his eye out for things he "thinks" I will like or could up-cycle into something great. And he knows I don't usually turn anything down. LOL 

But when I seen this Coca Cola crate.. Wahoo!! I was stoked!! It was a beauty!

It's first decor purpose is a tree stand hider thingy.. LOL

Couldn't wait to share this! Decorating is underway!!

It's Begining to Look alot like Christmas

I don't know about everyone else but I'm getting in that JOLLY mood a little early this year!!

I was asked to bring some of my creations to an Open House at a Fire Station in a couple weeks. So of course my head started spinning... what could I bring? All of my creations have really been custom ordered/one of a kind. So I thought why not make some fun signs and spread that JOLLY spirit that has taken over my dome!

 I thought I would share some of these creations that has kept me busy this past weekend! Oh, and a few Holiday decorations that have begun to take over our home! HeeHee, because I do have quite a bit!!

Rockin The Antlers

Yesterday I was cruisin good ol Pinterest, creating a dream laundry room board. And that's because it's on my Winter "To Do" list! Well anyway I came across this picture..

What's the first thing that caught my eye... ANTLERS! How friggin cool are these?!! I commented on the pic and pinned it to my board. Next thing I know I'm getting a message from a friend of mine, "I've got some deer antlers you can have!!" WHAT??!! Oh heck yeah!! I picked them up last night!!

Imagination Station- AKA Garage

Well another area is getting re-vamped at our house. It's a work in progress still but I just wanted to share what we have got done so far!! Well, because I'm soo darn excited about it!

Earlier this Spring I scored some rustic galvanized tin from this old chicken coop! Oh, and 2 gorgeous barn doors! I have a couple ideas floating in my head as to what to do with them but haven't yet. I wanted the tin for this very project, the garage! It was another project I could vision before it was done. And I say this because my hubby doesn't see "my vision" until it's complete.

Rambo's Ammo Belt

I finally convinced my son to be something other than a ninja for Halloween. And since my boys love movies that I grew up with, Goonies, Karate Kid, Jaws, ect.. He decided to be Rambo! I thought OK, I got this! We went to a Military surplus store that we have in our town. We got some old BDU's, and some dang near brand new boots!! 

If you have boys, you will know that it's all about the weapon the character has. In this case, had to have a gun and ammo belt. Gun...check! Ammo Belt...had to get creative.

My older son suggested black duck tape to make the strap GENIUS!

 Bullets...hummm..
I'm walking through the store, I'm looking at anything and everything that could be used as bullets. My original thought was PVC pipe cut down and painted black. Then...Ding Light Bulb!

Glow sticks!! 

That way everyone could see him (safety) and he had flare! LOL

I did cut the the little loop part off. (where you would loop your string through the glow stick)

What would you do??

Here is an old windmill I scored at a farm sale. It needed to be fixed, but I knew it was possible! My son Christian has been learning a lot in welding class (a class that he actually pays attention in LOL), and was more than happy to have an excuse to weld something!

So the question is....

What color or theme would you paint it?
