DIY Unexpected Shoe Rack

With our slow remodel of the kitchen, we knew we needed some type of shoe rack. I think I have tried everything in attempt of keeping shoes organized. And with boys, there is always something being tracked in. And through all these various attempts, I hated the fact of all the collected crap (dirt, grass, dog hair YUCK) that collected underneath.

So I was on a mission. I thought about building one....Na boring. Then I was at Hobby Lobby one day, cruising along every isle. Just because you have to. HeeHee! Then I seen these shelves. And they were on Clearance to boot!! The typical person may have only seen shelves but I seen a unique shoe rack!

I got the hubby to finally get em hung. And BAM! We've got a shoe rack! That's off the floor and easy to sweep underneath!

I love the way they look! Not your typical shoe rack HUH?!

I love how you turn them from shelves to shoe rack. I like it that it's floating. Thank you for sharing your project at Breaking Rules Party. I hope to see you again this week - Thursday, 5PM CST.

  15. Great idea! My girls have WAY more shoes than any children should have. They end up taking up their entire closet floor if I lay them out so that they can easily find them. I could see using shelving like you have done but in the closet instead of in the mudroom.
