Little Black Dress err I mean Dresser

This was my sweet find from yesterday!

And of course as soon as I seen it, I seen the potential!

So, first I sanded it down. It was real wood so it didn't take much.

Took out the drawers and hardware.

I like to Spray Prime all my furniture projects. I think it helps the finished product turn out better and bolder!

I chose black for this piece. And the mini rollers are a life saver! You won't have streaks.

We had to make some type of supports to hold the shelves. Alot of projects haven't required this step. But as I have done plenty of furniture projects I have figured out that every piece is built differently.

Then we cut the bead board to size. And nail into place. Then I distressed "sanded" down the edges and along the wood pieces.

I then took an old rag and dipped it into the stain. Rubbed it on the bead board and then gently wipe it off. You can repeat this step till you get the tint you want. Remember to throw the rag you use away. Do not reuse on another project at another time. 

And repeat on the outside over the sanded areas. But you shouldn't have to wipe off. Because if its real wood then it soaks into the wood. 

After your all finished, spray the finishing top coat. I like the spray Shellac. It doesn't turn yellow. And really the only problem I've had with that was on white pieces.
