Junkstock Spring 2013
Ok I hafta say I had the BEST time!
Ok I hafta say I had the BEST time!
I have been waiting for this for a couple months!
Junkstock is the Midwest's premiere event for architectural salvage, antiques, repurposed jewelry, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, primitives, shabby chic, vintage clothing, and all things old and unique. Vendors from all over the Midwest gather on a repurposed dairy farm just outside of Omaha, NE to showcase their goods. Amazing local music, food vendors, and activities for all ages make this an event you have to put on your annual junking calendar.
And to make it even better...
I won $50 JunkStock Bucks on Facebook!!
Stay tuned for pics of my JunkStock adventures!
peace out!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well I promised ya pictures didn't I??
I ended up going Saturday and Sunday!!
WOW! Is all I can say! I met some great people, got some great project ideas! And of course some very cool material for a couple new projects (already done with one, stay tuned)!
We arrived about 10am and it was already hot and humid! But that wasn't gonna stop us any!
My partners for the day were my awesome mother-in-law Mary, her neighbor Linda, and my BFF Fritz!
The gates to our Graceland! err I mean Junkstock! LOL
Even had some GREAT live music!!
My first treasure for the day was this beautiful pretty blue board from this guy! LOL He is from A&R Salvage and Recycling in Omaha NE. They dismantle and salvage old buildings as well as many other things!
Fritzy, got a new strainer! Of all things HUH?! LOL
That's my goofy sister from another mister!
Strainer HAT! LOL
Make Today Ridiculously Awesome!
What a cool sign HUH!?! Had to get it!
These 2 groovy ladies were from Vintage Elegance Boutique in Iowa! They started out similar to how things started rollin for me! You guys are pretty inspirational! Hope to catch again at another junkin adventure!
And of course everyone has to sign the bus! Even my mother in law was feelin the grove!!
Day 2!
Betty MJ and my son Christian were my junkin partners today!
Betty MJ snagged these 2 fun vintage chairs from a booth out of Wahoo NE. (Sorry don't have his name or info, but will get it up soon when I find his darn card).
This cool hog farm "Gate"? was scored from Weston Primitive Co, from Shenandoah IA. They are only open a few times a year for what they call Open House. And another one is coming up soon July 12-14th! Check out their page to get the digs!
I also got this sweet bracelet from Keg Creek Traders out of Iowa also. It's made out of a Book spine. Very unique!!
All in all what a great time!!! They will be holding their fall Junkstock in October! So be sure to check that out!!! I know I will!!
Oh, I know....I want to try to get there too!
